just got back from the gym. first time i’d went in a few months. they’ve got all new equipment. the problem with that for me, and for other members according to what i was told, is that some of the equipment that’s gone was preferred over the new stuff. the ab machine they had was great. the bicep and tricep machines were too. now they’re gone for good and we gotta improvise with free weights and body weight exercises. i’m sure some people will go elsewhere to get the full shebang. it’s fine for me because my membership is free at the Y i attend. you get what you pay for but i incorporate other exercises into my routine. the machines didn’t necessarily make anything easier but they were safer than risking a heavy ass dumbbell falling on your leg or foot and i ain’t wearing no steel-toes to the gym.
i find myself playing the daily jumble now to keep my brain active and vocabulary up since i don’t currently have anyone to play words with friends against. what can i say, i always win. i don’t live on facebook and don’t play any of the games on there. never have and likely never will. i simply don’t have time for it. i tend to stick with words, numbers, puzzles, riddles, and games like that.
i finally found an android media player and comic book viewer that work. the problem with video was getting subtitles to play in sync and to get them to even show up. i downloaded and installed a lot of the different free versions from android market and uninstalled all of them, too. i finally found the one that does what it’s supposed to and that one is mVideoPlayer. it plays the subs in sync and loads them. that’s great for when i’m watching anime on my phone. i use perfect viewer to read comics on my phone now. i forget the name of the original comic viewer i used to have but it always gave an out of memory problem and shut the program down or skipped pages. PV doesn’t do that. it has a lot of options, loads everything, and doesn’t suck up all your memory or battery power. it’s nice to find free things that work. a donation will be in order upon more usage on my part.
a resident of my neighborhood who lives far down the street from me saw me and stopped for a chat. religion came up. you all know i’m not religious or spiritual. she said she feels sorry for me. the thing is, people who don’t believe in all that shit feel the same way about people who do. we just don’t have to say anything about it because we don’t care if you do or don’t, as long as you don’t bring it up during every conversation or try to push your views on others. she dropped the issue pretty quick and once that happened, it was what you’d consider a normal convo. living your life with that always at the forefront of everything, man, that’s just gotta suck. how about just living your life the best way that you can live it, being the best you that you can be, and setting the best example you can set for others? none of those things require a belief in anything other than yourself and your fellow human.
i’ve scratched american idol from my list. been watching it since season 2 and after all this time, i’m almost completely weaned from reality tv. hell’s kitchen and kitchen nightmares are the only 2 that remain and to a lesser extent, cops and cheaters. goodbye idol. it was fun while it lasted but nothing lasts forever. i didn’t like the x-factor either. last on the list is america’s got talent. we’ll see if i’m in the mood to watch that when the next season rolls around.
i bought a prohoists bike rack on ebay and it’s one of the best purchases i’ve made in a very long time. my bikes have weird frame shapes and typical racks just didn’t cut the mustard. this one hooks up on my car hitch and you set the bike on it via the wheels instead of the frame. it’s a cinch to assemble and does what it’s supposed to. now that i’m better able to get my bikes around by car, it opens up a lot of doors of exploration that were previously closed. i can also travel with my bike unlike any time in the past. that’ll allow me to explore new cities, and beach boardwalks, more intimately than ever before. i’m very happy with my purchasing decision. i did have to buy a hitch adapter at a brick and mortar. something for you to keep in mind if you plan on getting one for yourself.
since megaupload went down, a lot of reputable file sharing services are turning pussy and shutting down or changing their services by excluding US traffic or no longer offering incentives to US IP addresses. depositfiles is one of those services. I’d been using them for many years and got paid a lot of money. about a week after MU went under, the notice when i login says their bonus program is no longer available to US residents. Man, that’s bullshit. I’ve got money that I earned and was never paid on. I sent them an email to find out if we’re gonna get paid what we’re owed or if they’re gonna do like PictureBang and pocket the money which is a real bitch move. without US traffic, they won’t last long and will probably shut down like so many others. all because they’re scared. it’s just pathetic. the pirate bay and even the original rapidshare are perfect examples that file sharing services can survive a lawsuit or shut down. You could even add mininova to that list although that site is a shell of its former glorious past.
as for pedicabbing, i’m on leave from my regular job and am now officially self-employed; including my other online endeavors that make money. no company can tell me what to do because now i’m my own company and it feels fucking great. the next several weeks, hell, the next several months, will be incredibly busy and that’s the reason for the leave. i may or may not go back. haven’t decided yet. when you can make in a day what you do in a week, what path are you gonna take? i have 2 more days off after today. i thought about volunteering somewhere but will just catch up on chores around the house and other stuff online. no extracurricular activities planned beyond a movie screening tomorrow night. life is good, i must admit. i’m getting done everything that i had planned out for myself, minus my relationship status. that’ll only change when a truly exceptional woman presents herself. for now, i’m single by choice. i ain’t got time to waste and i don’t wanna waste anyone else’s.
